MAN OF LA MANCHA Al Hirschfeld Theatre 302 West 45th Street west of Eighth Avenue A thrilling new production of one of the best-loved musicals of all time. Tony Award-winner Brian Stokes Mitchell (Kiss Me Kate, Ragtime, and King Hedley II will play Don Quixote, the role of a lifetime, and Jonathan Kent of London’s world-renowned Almeida Theatre (Hamlet with Ralph Fiennes, Medea with Diana Rigg, Plenty with Cate Blanchett) will direct. With a score that features such classic songs as “The Impossible Dream,” MAN OF LA MANCHA won five Tony Awards – including Best Musical – and ran for nearly six years in its original New York run, a remarkable achievement at a time when long runs were very rare.
