GEORGE GERSHWIN ALONE
Helen Hayes Theatre
240 West 44th Street,
between Broadway and Eighth Avenue

Hershey Felder stars in this tribute the son of Russian-Jewish immigrants, who "made an honest woman out of jazz." The show is about Gershwin's music, his triumphs, his failures and ultimately about a man who died at age 38 without the thing he wanted most in life, to be treated seriously by his composer peers. GEORGE GERSHWIN ALONE launches its journey with George's first hit tune, "Swanee," and includes such works as "Embraceable You", "Someone To Watch Over Me", and "A Rhapsody in Blue."
