Gilbert & Sullivan's swashbuckling comic opera, The Pirates Of Penzance returns to the Savoy in a new production. Set in Cornwall, it tells the tale of an unusually noble and genteel band of pirates and their young apprentice Frederic whose 'coming-of-age' soon turns sours the jovial jollity. After regretfully announcing that he is to leave the happy crew he joins forces with the police and sets about bringing an end to the pirate's life of sculduggery on the sea. Some of the famous Gilbert & Sullivan songs include the elaborately constructed I Am The Very Model Of A Modern Major-General, Poor Wandering One, I Am A Pirate King and A Policeman's Lot Is Not A Happy One.
